1st lesson of Music 8/11/2011
In our previous music lesson we learned how to play do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do on the piano. We also learned how to play "Frere Jacques" (Brother John) on the piano. Then we watched a video of Koji Kondo, the man who composed the Mario Bros. theme song and many other theme songs. We didn't get any home work.

In our last lesson we had to create a scene using mostly body language, hand signals, demostrating emotion with face, levels ( high or low) to show or status. We had to chose from victim and loser or winner and loser, or rich and poor. In our group we chose bully and victim, I was the bully that was bullying Nana. What went well was that we had good body language so you could see from our body and also our faces who was who. Even better if we had used more hand signals and if what we had said could have been better.

The Fourth Wall
The fourth wall is the imaginary wall for actors in the front of the stage. The fourth wall makes the play more realistic, so when you have to look at a mirror or something else you can look at it to the fourth wall and it looks like a real wall. When you "break" the fourth wall you start speaking to the audience by breaking that wall and interacting with the audience.
We applied this to our drama lesson when we were doing our short exam hall scenes by talking to our audience and expressing our personality
Reflection on Scene
In our short scene we were in a exam hall doing an exam and there were 4 characters; the teacher, the nervous student, the sleepy student, and the arrogant student. I think that our scene was good because you could clearly see each personality of the three students. I was the arrogant student and the technique I used was that i imagined myself as a really arrogant person and mean person.
Although it was good it could still be better if we were more confident we can develop that by practicing various times in front of a stage.
Also our group could have developed more facial expressions, gestures, and emotions to make it even more clearer to the audience how we react to things with each different personality, the way to make that better is by getting together and discuss with each other how we are going to express our personality.
Our sentences could have been better and more detailed and with more enthusiasm, we could have done that by also discussing with each other our ideas and then picking the one that was more suitable for that personality.

Lesson 2 Drama 25/09/2011
In our last lesson we learned how to act with just gestures and no voice. After we had to create a scene that we were in an exam hall and had to act out our personalities with out speaking. Then we had to "break" the fourth wall and talk to the audience one or two sentences. It was interesting because I learned a lot of techniques on how to act out my personality or how i am feeling and being realistic like repeating a sentence over and over my head.

Drama Homework
In our last lesson I learned how to create a scenario and what a scenario is.
In our short scene our scenario was:
Place: In the way to the underworld waiting for the boat
Time: Around Midnight
Situation: Waiting for a boat
Characters: Devil and Dead.
WWW (what went well)
I think that our scenario was good because it was a creative scene and apropriate for our script. Also our acting went well because we got into our characters shoes.
EBI (even better if)
It would have been better if we had said our lines louder because the way that we said the lines Ms.Hurst couldn't hear us, so next time we will be louder.

1st Class of Drama 19/09/2011
In our first Drama lesson we started by doing two exercises one was the steping on the foot exercise, the secound was that we had to walk around the room until Ms.Hurst had to tell us what to do like when she said clear the space we had to stand against the wall.
Then we had to produce a scene that Ms.Hurst had created the script. It was fun to do our scene and i realy like how our scenario was.

This was our last lesson :( , of art and we continued our portraits. Unfortunately we didn't finish them so we are going to have to do them as home work. I used water color pencils. It was a very productive lesson because now i only have to do the background and a bit of the clothes.

Japanese Culture
Japanese are known for there hard work. Children are taught to respect their parents and bosses, also help their family. Japanese eat a lot of rice and not much meat, they have been planting rice for 23000 years. In Japan people greet each other by bowing instead of shaking hands. Japanese use Hashi to eat.
Arts
Origami is a traditional type of art when you have a square piece of paper and folded in to a shape of an animal, a thing, etc.
Kimono is a type of clothes that you wear in Japan. It is a one piece of clothing like a dress but boys can also wear them. The word kimono is originally mean clothes but recently it has been used for specifically the traditional Japanese clothing.
One of the greatest Japanese paintings is the Great Wave off Kanagawa, the artist is Katsushika Hokusai. Its a tsunami and in the back there is the mount Fuji.
My plan is to Draw the mount of Fuji in the background and make an origami bird and in some way glue it to the background. I will use coloring pencils and maybe use water colors for the background.

Last lesson we started sketching the whole face together. First we received half of a woman's face from a magazine and then we had to draw the face proportions to sketch the rest of her face. It wasn't easy but i cant say it was the hardest thing of my life, was long as you knew the face proportions it was easy. However it was the first time i had sketched the face with proportions. Then we had to sketch the face with the proportions which was harder because then he had no reference.
Next lesson we will be starting our face portraits.

Face proportions HW
Our homework was to research face proportions.
In this picture it shows how you can divide the face to make it easier to sketch the parts of the face in the right place.
This picture shows where you sketch the parts of the face.
The first quarter goes from the top of the head to the hair.
The second measures from the top of the forehead to the middle of the eye.
The third quarter shows half of the eye to the nose and the ears.
The forth shows the lips and the chin.
You can also draw the proportions like this.
The top quarters have half of the eyes and the ears, the bottom quarters have half of the eyes, the nose, the mouth and the chin.

3 Class 22/08/2011
This week in our lesson we learned how to draw the ear and we sketch the different parts of the face with different types of materials. The materials that i used were pencils, charcoal, coloring pencils, pen, and oil pastels.
It was hard to sketch the ear because it has an odd form. I think the easiest part of the face to sketch is the eye or the mouth because the nose is only shading and it is hard to shade the nose. It is hard to sketch with charcoal because it is thick, i prefer to sketch with pencils.

Portraits Home Work
A portrait is an sculpture, painting or photograph of a person, usually the face and the person is looking at who painted or photographed the portrait.
This portrait was drawn by my teacher in Italy, it is a portrait of me and i think it is simple, but i does have the detail in my head which is the way i used to tie my hair when I was little.
This is a picture or a portrait of me, it is me when i lived in Italy and it is a normal picture that my mum toke, i only wanted to take this picture because of my hair, i think it is plain picture.
This is the painting of Mona Lisa, who painted it was Leonardo da Vinci. it is an amazing painting, and even though everyone wonders if she is smiling or not i am sure she is.

In the first lessons of Arts we learned how to make a blog. Then Miss. Fontoura told us what our "book" was about. We started making the contents page and then the Mind Map (for the ones that hadn't finished) and the Learner Profile were sent as Home Work
I used water color pencils for my contents page, I already had used water color pencils but i didn't had any ideas although i liked the way it turned out. I also learned more about how to make pasterns with water colors which actually helped me after to do my Learner Profile.
