Japanese Culture

Our homework was to pick a culture and i chose Japan.

Japanese are known for there hard work. Children are taught to respect their parents and bosses, also help their family. Japanese eat a lot of rice and not much meat, they have been planting rice for 23000 years. In Japan people greet each other by bowing instead of shaking hands. Japanese use Hashi to eat.

Arts

Origami is a traditional type of art when you have a square piece of paper and folded in to a shape of an animal, a thing, etc.

Kimono is a type of clothes that you wear in Japan. It is a one piece of clothing like a dress but boys can also wear them. The word kimono is originally mean clothes but recently it has been used for specifically the traditional Japanese clothing.
One of the greatest Japanese paintings is the Great Wave off Kanagawa, the artist is Katsushika Hokusai. Its a tsunami and in the back there is the mount Fuji.
My plan is to Draw the mount of Fuji in the background and make an origami bird and in some way glue it to the background. I will use coloring pencils and maybe use water colors for the background.
